A Restaurant’s Awareness & Revenue Growth

Crush Pizza + Tap Denver has been a PIN and Our Community Now (OCN) client for over a year. The owner, Jason McGovern (famous for his daily Denver pizza challenge, engaged Larry Herz and the PIN team to help drive his business a year after his name change from Denver Deep Dish to Crush Pizza + Tap.

Larry has been more of a partner in my business over the past 12 months than a marketing guru. His restaurant experience has proved to me more of an asset than I could have imagined. In addition, he is always a text or phone call away when I need to bounce an idea off him, which is invaluable to a small business owner. And having the “Power In Numbers” PIN team behind Larry was another key in my decision to come aboard.

Objectives

  • More customers driving store revenue
  • Drive brand awareness through social media

The Program

CORE

Our CORE program is an all-encompassing support program, especially for the restaurant channel. You have a dedicated account manager who takes responsibility for driving your business through our platforms with a monthly drumbeat of activity on OCN and Social Media platforms with monthly email and text blasts.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media is highly productive in driving awareness and traffic into your restaurant. Advising you on how to grow your presence and cross-promoting your business is a key deliverable from PIN. 12 monthly posts on both the OCN social assets and your account with monthly boosting are included in your support program.

OCN CONTENT

A monthly content planning calendar is developed for your approval, and then the PIN team writes and deploys content on the OCN website every month. You are also invited to participate in our video programming, including ‘Restaurant Tours,’ ‘Restaurants Near Me,’ and ‘What’s for Lunch.’

INFLUENCER GROUPS

Larry pioneered the OCN influencer group DINE (Denver Influencers Networking Experience). A combined force of IG foodie influencers specializing in promoting restaurants and bars. They gather every month at a designated location, and for the cost of the food and drink, the blast posts have a vast reach and impact on your business.

RESTAURANTEUR NETWORK

As you join the PIN restaurant family network, you will have the opportunity to meet and engage with like-minded restaurateurs and be part of IROC (Independent Restaurateurs of Colorado). This has been an influential think tank and support group—especially during COVID, to discuss solutions and ways of navigating these extraordinary times.

COLLABORATION PROJECTS

An outcome of the network has been the opportunity to develop collaborative cross-promotions. The most recent example is the Piper Inn and Crush Pizza + Tap swapping wing sauces for a fun and successful cross-promotion.

ABOUT LARRY

Larry was born and raised in Long Island, NY, and graduated from George Washington University with a B.A. in marketing. He started managing Manhattan restaurants, such as Tavern on the Green, the largest and busiest restaurant in the world. However, in 1993 after being held at gunpoint, Larry packed his bags and moved to Denver, Colorado. Larry opened his first restaurant in Denver at 27, the legendary family-style Italian restaurant “Carmine’s on Penn.” After selling it, he opened several more restaurants: Uncle Sam’s, A-Bar Union Station, Indigo, Go Fish Grill, and 730 South.

In 2017, after 29 years in the business, Larry decided to pursue his second career at OCN Eats. Today, Larry is the face and voice of Food and Drinks in Colorado; headlining feature shows such as Restaurant Tours, What’s for Lunch, and Local Biz Buzz. Larry knows the Restaurant business and has proven to drive “butts in seats” and support his clients to grow their businesses.
