Who is PIN Gives?

PIN Gives was founded in 2016 with the goal of serving other people and organizations in need. It is an outlet for PIN Business Network to explore what we are passionate about and give back to what we care about.

PIN Gives is a foundation that supports the teams within the organization. This year we really ramped up our engagement with the community and hope to continue to grow our support for other charities as we continue into 2020.

PIN’s charitable donations help improve our community by giving people safe places to learn and play. Donating to these charities helps change our business and work culture every single day. This helps us to stay focused on the things that matter most to each and every one of us, while having a dramatic impact on others.

This was a great year for PIN Gives to get involved and give back to what we care about, in fact in donations alone we gave back $391,000 in 2019 to our community. We are looking forward to 2020 and are excited to help even more organizations this coming year.

Who We Supported With This Year

Home of the Brave

This is PIN’s Second Annual Home of the Brave Volunteer Event. Home of the Brave is an annual campaign to engage company and partner employees in giving back to our nation’s Veterans. PIN’s participation in the annual campaign was to thank those we owe for our freedom at our VA medical facility in Denver, Colorado. PIN handed out T-shirts, dog-tags, and a variety of items to local Veterans, thanking them for their service to our country.

Bicycle Colorado

Many PIN employees are huge fans of bicycles and ride a lot on the warmer Colorado Days. This year PIN donated time and resources to Bicycle Colorado to help keep their vision moving forward. For more than 25 years, they’ve used advocacy, education and passion to make Colorado one of the most bicycle-friendly states in the nation.

Mullets for Melons

One of eight women in the U.S. will develop some form of breast cancer in their lifetime. Taken back by this statistic, a few PIN employees got together to contribute to the fight by doing something groovy with their long hair, hence ‘Mullets for Melons’ was born. The team raised donations by cutting off their luscious locks into mullets on live-stream. The funds raised by Mullets for Melons were donated to the National Breast Cancer Coalition.

Children’s Diabetes Foundation

Children’s Diabetes Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the support of research and education about diabetes. PIN Gives donates to this charity every year along with participating in annual golf tournaments to help raise additional funds for the foundation. PIN’s donations to CDF also go to the Barbara Davis Center.

The Dumb Friend’s League

Dumb Friends League Denver is an animal shelter that rescues animals & offers animal adoption. Quite a few PIN employees have adopted their very own furry friend from the shelters. In addition to adoptions, PIN uses the network and reach we have into the community to help promote and push adoption opportunities to give these animals homes.

Toys for Tots

Every year PIN employees take time out of the day to volunteer with Toys for Tots. The team helps pick up and bring toys to the drop off locations, as well as sets up internal donation boxes at our office to bring more toys to tots through the holiday.

Mile High United Way

Mile High United Way fights for the education, health, and financial stability for everyone in our community. For years PIN has partnered with Mile High United Way to help drive donations and volunteers. This year we donated more than we ever have in the past, in addition to the large donation PIN also donated time and resources to help film events like the Turkey Trot and more.

Jaxson’s Journey

Jaxson Ayers was born with many abnormalities and conditions that may impact his life in one way or another. The major conditions are as follows: congenital heart defects, congenital hearing loss in both ears, underdevelopment of the semicircular canals. PIN gets involved every year in the Denver Congenital Heart walk. PIN teams up with Jaxson’s Journey in the walk and they also donate and sponsor the event each year.
